Broadband Update January 2015

The Making Kent Quicker Project has now brought better broadband to our Village
Superfast broadband is already available to some premises in our area from BT Openreach. You will need to contact your ISP to upgrade your service.

Please note: Not all ISPs are offering services as soon as cabinets are live so there may be a delay in your chosen provider accepting orders for faster broadband products.  Some consumers are being told that they cannot order a fibre-based broadband product, even though they could still benefit from a faster broadband service. We advise that you check carefully with your ISP exactly what speed uplift you can obtain and which of their product offerings are available to you.

Not all premises in identified postcode areas will be able to order faster fibre-based broadband services. In Newchurch this is going to be most likely because some premises are too far away from the cabinet to benefit from a speed uplift. Where these premises are currently receiving a service of less than 2Mbps the Making Kent Quicker Project has funding to look at alternative technical solutions.

Can I get Wireless Broadband?

You will need to install an aerial and be in line of sight with the transmitter at Chapel Farm, Eastbridge.
