A HUGE THANK YOU to all who contributed to the Church Christmas Tree Festival!
We had a wonderful December with many decorated trees (over 30 this year) and some great tableau's.
LOTS of visitors both "everyday" and particularly for the Saturday evenings mulled wine and mince pies, and the Christmas Eve Carol Service.
Visitors and tree sponsors - both businesses and local families - have been very generous and helped build up some much needed funds to maintain the churchyard this year so again .... thank you!
Without the help of many other kind and involved people from the village and beyond, and specifically the Craft Club non of it would have been possible; it's hard work preparing! WELL DONE EVERYONE!
(And we look forward to doing it all again next December! Watch this space!)
The next diary date for the Church is the Easter Craft Fair and 1st coffee morning of the year on Saturday 5th April- put it into your diary please!
CONCERN MANY MAY BE MISSING OUT ON FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Older residents in Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh are being urged to check if they can apply for Pension Credit to boost their income.
Families and friends can help by checking with relatives and helping with applications. Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s welfare team has also been talking with those known to them who may be eligible.
The deadline to apply for Pension Credit and be able to receive the Winter Fuel Payment is 21 December 2024.
More information can be found on the government website or by calling the national Pension Credit helpline on 0800 99 1234. A friend or family member may ring on a pensioner’s behalf.
Changes To Weekly Church Services from April 2024
As as result of Benefice wide changes services will be held in Newchurch from April on the 2nd Sunday of each month (generally Communion at 9am) And 4th Sunday of each month (generally Sunday Morning Worship at 9am)
Each 3rd and 5th Sunday there will be Benefice Joint Services at 10.30am...NOT in Newchurch.

All bird keepers are urged to remain vigilant and take action to protect their birds following a further increase in the avian influenza (‘bird flu’) risk levels in Great Britain.
Avian Influenza Prevention Zone mandatory biosecurity measures remain in place for all birds. If you intend to allow your birds outside after 18 April you must take action now to prepare the outside areas, please check the information available Here.

Kent County Council Trading Standards
are raising awareness about African Swine Fever. This disease is not the same as swine flu and does not affect humans.
There is a national drive to co-ordinate work with all police forces affected by hare coursing. Kent have adopted the National Operation name of 'OP Galileo'.
If you have cause to report any Hare Coursing activity please quote this operation name.
